The youngest child of a modest Christian family of 3, Love Kendy Jourdan was born in December 2003 in Jeremie, Grand-Anse. In 2015 he was awarded a scholarship from the Association of Grand-Anselais for the Promotion of Education (AGAPE) for his academic excellence and his leadership skills. To paraphrase him “This opportunity opens many doors for me and allows me to excel in many spheres because the rigorous method used by AGAPE to prepare his student scholars challenge me to do more” every day. As a result in 2018 at the young age of 14, Love Kendy Jourdan represented his native town, Jeremie, in the National Debate Competition organized by “Fondasyon Konesans ak Libete (FOKAL) and has been crowned “Best National Debater” of the foundation.
At the award speech ceremony, the coordinator describes the remarkable performance of the young debater as follow:
“….The youngest debater of the tournament and also of the program since its inception in 1996. He is 14-year-old, and what a performance! He manipulates his verb like an adult. He disempowers most of his opponents, not by his young age, but by his strength of thoughts, his humoristic style, his audacity and his determination to attack”.
This amazing victory reinforced his belief in himself and empowers him to go for the moon.
In August 2019, Love Kendy Jourdan took part in the competition for “Ambassador of Peace” in Jeremie, organized by the Program of the United Nations for the Development (PNUD). Once again, he was awarded the “Ambassador for Peace” title with the mission to promote Peace and Non-Violence https://youtu.be/mbomGj2scSA
His motivation to make Human Rights a reality prompts him to put together training sessions on Peace and Non-violence in under-privileged sections of the town of Jeremie. As this is not enough, Love Kendy Jourdan focused his attention now on abandoned kids, those marginalized by society, who currently live on the streets. He initiated and created the program called “Solidarity aux Enfants de Rue a Jeremie”. In recognition of this effort, the “Office de la Protection des Citoyens” in Jeremie, in 2019, named Love Kendy Jourdan among the 10 most influential people in town https://fb.watch/5NtzxeG3Mt/
Love Kendy understood very early the philosophy prone by AGAPE (UBUNTU: Je suis parce que vous etes”).
Because of his involvement in his community, his determination to work toward a society more just and more equal, Love Kendy was named Coordinator of the “Youth Ambassadors of Peace in Jeremie by the PNUD.
In September 2020, he was invited to speak at the commemoration of the UN75 regarding the exclusion of youth in a culture of peace (https://fb.watch/5NtzxeG3Mt/) in the world.
In December 2020 Love Kendy won first place in a national competition on Human Rights (https://youtu.be/2IjFCv4zCnY).
Despite all this, Love Kendy maintains very strong academic credentials. He is always the first in his class and was chosen this year among 100 students who have been awarded a scholarship to go to United World Colleges (UWC), which is a global movement that makes education a force to unite people, nations, and cultures for peace and sustainable future.
Love Kendy Jourdan dreams to become a Lawyer and Ambassador so he can contribute more to the development of his country and peace around the world.
Despite all these activities, Love Kendy found a way to immerse himself in Theology so he has a better understanding of God’s mission for him. As he said: “To God is all the Glory” and he thanks him for allowing him to serve. Love Kendy graduated 1 year ago from the “Institut de Theologie Evangelique de Jeremie”
